Plus glass type SILATEC P6B/EH1. For very valuable exhibits RC5 or RC6 windows and glass of the type SILATEC P8B/EH3. Be careful when using glass specified by the standard: The test standard for burglarproof windows does actually not test the glass. The specified glasses are quickly broken and they represent the decisive weak point! This is why we produce walls of glass, which have already prevented 5000 burglaries in jeweler display windows during the last 40 years. A priceless treasure trove of experience from the criminal practice. Please take advantage of it.
Fixed glazing cannot be opened and this represents of course a large advantage for the burglary protection.
Because glass is the decisive weak point, which is attacked in almost all cases. Install at least SILATEC P6B/EH1, or even better SILATEC P8B/EH3
The further the glass protrudes into the frame, the safer will it be held. We recommend approx. 25 mm protrusion especially for floor-deep and large display windows. This offer already significantly more burglary protection as the often used 15 mm, for example against “pressing”.
A sealing seam made of “adhering” silicone is clearly safer than a rubber lip seal, which is only pressed between glass and frame to keep water out. The sealing keeps the pane solidly in the frame, inside and outside.
Both are possible, it depends. The installation from the outside is in most cases recommended for large safety panes because the glass must be replaced as soon as possible after a burglary attempt. This is normally easier from the outside, for example, the shop facilities are not in the way. However, caution: The safety glass pane must be especially secured when installed from the outside, to ensure that burglars do not simply dismantle the pane. How does that work? Inquire about it. We are pleased to be available for consultations.
Heavy. Thick. Green. And traditional armored glass is even dramatically more unsafe than SILATEC safety glass: about 20 times! The valuable exhibits are safe behind SILATEC glass, based on the crystal clear glass they are displayed in a natural, non-cloudy light and they are protected against fading based on the hundred percent UV filter. Sensitive material such a leather, fabrics or wood maintain their color.
Of course, the individual local conditions must be included and must be coordinated early with your insurance company. We would be pleased to do this for you and we will provide consultations for you at any time.
